Know Your Lore — Legacy Airdrops (Part 5)
In the fifth part of the airdrops series, we will discuss the first airdrop of series 2.5, Hoof Skip.
Hoof Skip
With Cerso Yeet sitting atop the Elden Throne, it was time for his resinous brother Minkus to step into the spotlight. On his way to Miquella’s Haligtree, Minkus was tasked with solving a puzzle that would open the gate leading to the Haligtree. It was natural that Minkus, the resinous magic user that he was, would want to skip a puzzle rather than figure it out. Dan, always up for a suffercore challenge, was happy to oblige, and soon threw himself into perfecting the strategy that could be summed up in three words — JUMP, JUMP, BING!
Naturally, Dan initially thought the skip would be easy, based on the video he watched:
He even watched a tutorial video, and was still not convinced the skip would be difficult:
Turns out Dan was wrong. VERY wrong. It was a difficult skip, and Dan would have wasted a lot less time solving the puzzle and opening the gate the way it was intended. There’s no challenge in that, though, so Dan (and chat) spent the better part of two streams trying to successfuly complete the skip. Finally, after four hours and more than 50 attempts, Lime Wire’s hooves finally reached the other side of that gate:
What a legend. Obviously, an incredible achievement like that HAD to be rewarded with an airdrop, and community member and proprieter of Murph Mart MurphyObv beat Dan to the punch with some classic TTS BM:
To the pleasant surprise of all recipients, it only took Dan five days to release Hoof Skip. It was released on October 11, 2022 to 604 lucky recipients, 60 of those receiving the rare full art variant.
In part six of the series, we’ll take a look at the sixth released airdrop, which put the spotlight on Dan’s triumphant return to a 1990s classic.
