The classic social medias. We tried Snapchat but it took a lot of time and did bring good results.

HNWatcher for conversation monitoring

Hacker news is very important for us. It is exactly our target, and we need to track everything people say about us or about competitors there. HNWatcher permit us to be alerted right away when someone talks about us.

Mention for mentions tracking

Mention is the hnwatcher.com for the entire web. The product helps us track mentions of our school and competitors on the Internet. The tool is far from being perfect, but it help us nevertheless.
(By the way, Mention has published its marketing stack, check it out!)

Survey Monkey for… survey

Mailchimp for mailing

When we need to send beautiful emails in bulk, we use Mailchimp. Quite expensive though so we use Mailgun for auto emailing.

Mailgun for “transactional” email

This is the email API we are using to send automated emails from our backoffice, automated admission process and website. Very easy to use, fast, reliable and cheap.

Crazy Egg for Website optimization
This tools permits us to see the heatmap of our website

Google analytics for tracking visitors infos

Keyword Tool for crafting titles
Permits us to fine-tune blog post titles and content based on what people look for on Google

Buzzsumo for crafting content
Permits us to fine-tune blog post titles and content based trended on social networks

Dezignwithaz for stickers

Our users use their laptops every day, going to meetups and companies around the Bay Area, and they love to have stickers on their laptops to personalize them (everyone has a mac, they all look the same, it’s boring). Stickers are a great and cheap way to build your brand. We use a small local shop for our stickers. They work fast, and they are super reliable.

Meetup.com for events
We are very into face-to-face events. It is a great way to meet people from the industry and potential candidates. Meetup.com is the weapon of choice. It’s also a way for us to give back to the community by opening most of our keynotes.

Love
And a lot of LOVE for our students, mentors, investors and partners. This is actually our secret ingredient. We do care and we always try to help people, even if there is nothing they can help us with back. In fact, one day, they will be able to help. And it’s good to have friends!
