DappRadar starts tracking dapps on the Ontology blockchain
Now supporting dapps across six blockchains
Continuing its mission as the most trusted source of dapp data, DappRadar has added support for dapps running on the Ontology blockchain.
Ontology is a high-performance public blockchain that includes a series of complete distributed ledgers, smart contract systems, and a distributed trust ID platform.
Also, in a similar manner to Cosmos and Polkadot, it is working towards launching a multichain and cross-chain solution. Available on a testnet, this uses the Ontology blockchain as its mainnet, supporting side-chains which have the same architecture as the Ontology mainnet, and side-chains with different architecture.
Growing faster
Headquartered in Singapore, Ontology celebrated the first year anniversary of its mainnet launch in late June 2019 and its development platform is available on Google Cloud Platform Marketplace, Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure.
In terms of building out its global reach to both consumers and developers, it recently signed partnerships with Opera Browser, Japanese technology accelerator TECHFUND, and Japanese blockchain investor gumi Cryptos Inc.
Ontology for dapps
As can be seen in respect to the dapps now tracked on DappRadar, Ontology currently has a lot of support from game developers, notably Chinese studio MIXMARVEL.
Its game HyperDragons Go is the most popular dapp on Ontology with almost 800 daily active wallets. Interestingly that’s a larger daily audience than the earlier Ethereum version of the game has sustained since its March 2018 launch.
Certainly it will be interesting to see how the Ontology dapp ecosystem develops over the coming months as more dapp developers — encouraged by Ontology’s forthcoming features, growing community, and incentive scheme — launch new products and build the overall user base.
