Partner Practices

Kcymaerxthaere, BeFantastic and Jaaga at the Wheeler Road Flyover, Bengaluru.

Our Partners BeFantastic, Jaaga and Kcymaerxthaere have recently concluded a phenomenal series of artistic interventions, featuring 14 artists, at the Wheeler Road Flyover in Bengaluru.

Wheeler Road is a location central to Kcymaerxthaere’s Flyover Country: Showcase initiative, and joins the nearly 150 global locations that the alternate-reality project has intervened in.

Discussing Dara’s involvement in the project, this is what the BeFantastic team had to say:

Dara has been the thread holding this project together through all the social distancing of 2021, and now 2022. The Flyover Country project started off with an online workshop, with artists collaborating on murals virtually. Despite most of the artists living in the same city, the COVID situation in India did not allow for in-person meetings. Through these times, Dara allowed our artists, mentors and team to communicate with one-another asynchronously. Continuing the conversation from our programmed Zoom work sessions, Dara has enabled us to build a close-knit community around a shared interest in storytelling and placemaking. With our team, and our funders and partners that are spread across the globe, Dara has kept all those involved in Kcymaerxthaere’s Flyover Country engaged and involved in not only our online activities but also our on-site engagements under the Wheeler Road Flyover in Bengaluru.

The Kcymaerxthaere and BeFantastic team have relied heavily on Dara for all internal communications, programming and decision-making, long since the launch of the project. Dara has been, and will continue to be, a safe space for us to share updates on the project, as well as some laughs.”

Eames Demetrios, the Geographer-at-Large who stands at the centre of the Kcymaerxthaere project felt similarly, saying this:

If you would like to know more about Flyover Country: Showcase, have a look at Kcymaerxthaere’s site here: https://kcymaerxthaere.com/historicalsite/flyover-country/

That’s all for now. Stay safe and keep loving Dara!
