Wide Layout Support for the Web + iPads

We love keyboards as much as anyone and now Dara plays nice and looks great on laptops and iPad.

Who read your message?

You can see who has read your messages on Chat. See their little sized pictures below each message you send. Just double tap or long-press on any message to see who has read it (or add an emoji).

Emoji Reactions

Emoji Reactions are now available! You can also use them to host easy polls on group chats and spread the 💗 and 💃🏾 parties.

Offline Support

Dara now loads chats, even when you’re offline. Plus, we’ll send any message, video or attachment once you’ve reconnected.

Community Engagement

• You might have already noticed a change in the way Dara’s team reaches out to each of your communities. We’ll use Dara’s Team profile to help our partners engage their community’s chat groups in specially tailored ways. We would love your feedback as we take this feature out for a spin!
• Now all Partner admins are part of a chat group where we’ll share best practices, how-to’s on new tools or features and be available to answer any questions.

• Dara hosted the first of a series of online Dialogues between global experts at the intersection of art, technology and society in partnership with the wonderful people at British Council. New Partners

We are excited to have the Kcymaerxthaere.com Community with us on Dara. Kcymaerxthaere is a global artwork of multi-dimensional storytelling that — thus far — can be found on 6 continents and over 30 countries, in stories told on bronze markers and historic sites. They collaborate with individuals, communities, and institutions to transform non-traditional spaces into enduring parts of a shared story.

Flyover Country is Kcy’s is first virtual and on-site project located in Bangalore, India. Blending learning, creating and techart in public space to build community, the project brings together 12 amazing Bangalore artists to work collaboratively under 3 mentors and the Geographer-at-large, Eames Demetrios himself.

We are also honoured to join the incredible batch of Techstars India 2021 companies and are happy to have Techstars on Dara too.

• Voice notes — because it’s nice to hear the warm voices of our friends, even when they may not want to show their faces.
• Edit Messages — because we all occasionally send typos and we shouldn’t have to pay (cough: twitter) to fix them.
