Hi there!

We’ve been hard at work to improve your user experience on Dara. We’ve also focused on improving visibility for the wonderful work our Partner organizations do. Plus, we’ll soon be announcing the launch of our most recent project in the AI and techart space — the RadBots! Read up on all of that and more below.

Dialog: NFTabled and the RadBots Launch

Dialog sessions, presented by British Council, Goethe-Institut, BeFantastic and Dara, invite industry leaders in techart, to explore new possibilities at the cusp of art and technology.

Kicking off with NFTabled: Art Collectives & Tech, the upcoming three-part mini-series from March to May 2022 is focused on NFTs, Cryptocurrencies and DAOs, in an effort to unpack this new frontier, while considering what it might mean for folks and organizations at the intersection of technology and art.

This mini-series is also designed to announce and present our RadBots, which are an NFT collection of conversational video bots, that have been created by some of the finest theater, museum and literary professionals based in India, UK and Germany, by boldly experimenting with AI based techart.

RadBots is a radical experiment in modern collectivism and responsible crypto.

Founder Feature: Archana Prasad

Our very own Founder and COO Archana Prasad was recently featured alongside other groundbreaking women from around the world in a video by one of our prestigious Partner institutions, the British Council!

The video was made to celebrate Women’s Day this year, and asked the question “Do women in the arts and culture industry enjoy the same visibility as men?

We’re thrilled to share the video with you, and we hope that the year ahead brings great progress for women across fields, and all over the world!

New Product Highlights

Easier Permissions for Notifications

As part of our continuing effort to improve how notifications work at Dara, we’ve made it so that new Members should get a pop-up at the bottom of their screens, asking for permission to enable notifications.

Collaborative Partnerships

Dara Communities for cross-partner projects will now show all of the involved Partners on their pages…and will also show up under the Communities for those individual Partners!

Head on over here, to the Smarter Digital Realities Residents Dara page, for an example.

Smarter Digital Realities is a project conceived and conceptualized by Sandbox Collective, in collaboration with Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan, Bangalore. It brings together 21 artists from 4 Indian cities — Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, and Dhaka — in order to spend time online and offline, and reflect upon a digitally mediated relationship with the urban.

Partner Practices: Sandbox Collective for bangaloREsidency

Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan Bangalore is celebrating 10 years of it’s bangaloREsidency program, which was conceived as a long-term collaborative program between the them and various arts & culture spaces and partners in Karnataka, Kerala, and Germany.

As part of the festivities, we’ve launched our ‘Read All About It!’ series, which is a periodical that features one of the residency’s host organizations weekly. Catch conversations with them about their work, especially through the COVID Pandemic, and their big nexts.

Kicking off the series is Sandbox Collective, who are also among Dara’s prestigious Partner Network. They are a fluid space for creativity, that undertakes a variety of curatorial and arts production projects, along with offering arts residencies.

Project Throwback: Kcymaerxthaere, BeFantastic and Jaaga at the Wheeler Road Flyover, Bengaluru.

Last month, our Partners Kcymaerxthaere, BeFantastic and Jaaga concluded a phenomenal series of artistic interventions, featuring 14 artists, at the Wheeler Road Flyover in Bengaluru. You can read up a little more about that in our Feb Update.

We’ve interviewed Eames Demetrios, the Geographer-at-Large at the center of Kcymaerxthaere, along with Kamya Ramachandran, who is the Founder-Director of BeFantastic, to find out a little more about the project and their plans for the near future.

That’s all for now. Keep watching this space for our next monthly update!
