May 2022 — Part 2: Build 5.4.8 has Automated Transcripts, Improved Community & Personal Privacy.

This is the second part of our April Update, where we’ll be going over product improvements this past month.

We’ve made tweaks across the board at Dara’s app, with a close focus on some key elements of your user experience. Keep reading to know more.

New Product Highlights

Automated Transcripts

Now, when you send a video message on Dara’s Chat, you should see an auto-generated, written transcript, which is meant to help with communication between you and the receiver.

Better Invites, Community Previews & Improved Privacy Controls

If you’re an admin for a Dara Community, you can press the hamburger menu on the top left, and can then press the “Invite to <Your Community Name Here> Community” button. This brings up a new window that will let you copy an invite link to your Community, that you can then share anywhere on the web. Additionally, if you then click on the gear icon on the top right, you’ll see a new window open up at the bottom of the screen that will allow you to do two things:

Firstly, you’ll be able to Preview what your Community looks like.

Secondly, you can press the “Require Private Link to Join” button in order to make you community Private. Only folks with your Invite link will be able to join your Community now.

If you do decide to make your Community Private, you can use the same gear icon, and press the “Allow Joining from Public Link” button to make your Community Public. You can also press the “Reset Private Link” button to ensure that this link will no longer be serviceable to join your Community. This is a great way to limit access to your Community if you’ve had trouble with bad actors.

We’ve also worked to give you greater control over your personal privacy on Dara. Head on over to your Dara Profile and scroll down till you see the “Contact Info” section. Here’s where you can decide who should be able to see your entire Profile, message you or have access to your email address. Go ahead and give it a try!

Chat Improvements

Go ahead and write a message to someone on Dara, and don’t send it. Press any of the buttons on the bottom left, exactly like those pesky misclicks that seem to happen all the time! Now come back to Dara’s Chat, and you should still see your unsent message, waiting to be added to, edited and sent.

Also, you should see Chat messages and video files across Dara loading faster now. What’s more, if you happen to go offline while using Dara’s app, you should still be able to see the last message in a chat, and schedule a response to it, which will go out when you next have connectivity.
