TechArt for a Better Tomorrow: Dara and her RadBots

Hello! This article is the first in a series about a radical experiment we have undertaken in modern collectivism and responsible crypto– the RadBots!

Exciting things are happening right now at the intersection of art and technology, with one of particular note being the current NFT boom. NFTs or “Non-Fungible Tokens” are digital files such as artworks, with unique signatures embedded within them, that act as proof of authenticity. While some scoff at this supposedly passing trend, digital artists have, for the most part, taken to creating and selling NFTs in a big way.

RadBots are a NFT collection of conversational video bots that have been created by some of the finest theater, museum and literary professionals based in India, the UK and in Germany. The RadBot artists boldly experimented with AI-based TechArt in order to create lifelike characters that speak to a need for greater representation within tech, while also standing on their own merits as opinionated and engaging conversationalists. They also chose to form a Proof of Stake blockchain collective called the RADAO, that will pool 30% of the proceeds from their NFT sales towards funding further TechArt experiments that focus on enacting positive change.

The RADAO is a DAO or “Decentralized Autonomous Organization”, which refers to a non-traditional management system that is facilitated by a computer code embedding certain rules agreed upon by the DAO’s members.

The RADAO enables its members to submit and vote on funding proposals. Membership into the RADAO includes the RadBot artists, buyers and the RadBots themselves.

Yes, that’s right! The machines also have a say on what causes the money made from their sale is spent on. Buy a Bot and come be a part of the RADAO– a bold new approach to collective change-making.
