The coding bootcamp market is thriving. Every month, they get thousands of new students, hire new instructors, and spend millions to promote themselves. Their favorite argument? There is a big demand for tech specialists. And while it’s mostly true, nobody mentioned how hard it is to get a job as a junior web developer or, say, data analyst, right after a bootcamp. Finding your first job might be hard, but you can increase your odds of getting hired by looking at other tech-related career paths.

FileMaker (or any other low-code platform) Developer

This is going to be my number 1 recommendation and here’s why. The demand is high, but the number of developers who even heard of these technologies...is limited, to say the least. Since these technologies are not introduced at schools or popular coding bootcamps, it’s incredibly hard to find experienced developers who know the platform well. Yet, you can easily get paid around $50-$100 an hour working with a low-code platform. And yes, it’s way more relaxing than full-stack web development.
