Why AI Can’t Write Text in an Image and What You Can Do About It

Generative AI models like Dalle-2, Stable Diffusion, and Midjourney are getting better at creating digital artwork as I’m writing this. The modern generative AI models can create whatever our hearts desire, from illustrations, anime, and comics to watercolors and even 3D models. Perhaps in a month, they will learn to draw something entirely new.

But they still struggle sometimes.

How many hands do you see?

Hands, for example, are still among the hardest things for modern AI models to draw. And it all boils down to the images used to train AI, simply because hands are not as prominent on many photos as, say, faces. The same thing happens to teeth and feet. There is simply not enough training data for AI to master the art of drawing extremely complex human hands.
