Farah from Kids With Love told us how is a real humanitarian trip in Morocco.

“We previously told you about our association which, after this humanitarian trip in October 2019, led us to found Kids with love which aims to help children from rural areas in Morocco that you can find on instagram and twitter and our website : http://kidswithlove.tilda.ws. This trip touched us so much that it was unthinkable for us not to tell you a part of it to make you imagine if you were in the place of one of the volunteers.

I will tell you about a typical day I had in Bouazza as a volunteer. You should know that we were staying in a riad throughout our stay. In the morning Hasna, cook, prepared a huge breakfast with specialties such as msemens, batbouts, omelets with argan oil. In short, everything to make us spend an excellent stay. Once lunch was over, we took the road in a van or we were a dozen and we put music on the speaker connected to sing and give balm to the heart. Finally arrived, we put ourselves at work by sticking the tiles to the walls, a room which will become thereafter a classroom. It’s time to eat and we head to the center of the village to share a meal prepared by the women of the village with other volunteers and some fathers. After this nice moment of conviviality we go back to the site to finish our actions of the day. Once these missions were completed, we returned to the van to wash, change and enjoy the riad with its swimming pool. In the evening, we always had a delicious dinner with Hasna and we all met in the living room to share hilarious moments. Indeed, we would set up games, werewolves and debates.

Finally, this stay was for me idyllic, we felt useful, everyone was benevolent, we were in the effort but we were extremely pampered. But before being able to live this experience we had to do some actions that gave us the financial means to do so. For example, we renovated a parking lot in a town that promised us a certain amount of money in return for our help. We also set up a kitty to reach our goals, in addition to selling cakes at local events in the department. All these actions really helped us to pay for the travel, the accommodation and the trips. Once I came back, my perception of life really changed from a rather selfish and self-centered vision to a total relativism. In addition, I had gone with my best friends, and when I came back we got even closer, we have a very strong bond today.

To conclude, I know that the possibility to participate in this kind of trip allows to reduce poverty in the country where we help but not only, it makes the mentalities evolve here because we travel, we meet new people, we discuss. According to me, everyone comes out a winner.”
