#AnimalSOS — Wagging Tails Campaign
A #DareToChallenge Project
This is a project, that tackles the problem of domestic or stray hurt animals, when there is no chance to secure their health and life. In that phase, we’re coming to provide first aid treatment, in order to save them.
We are a team of 4 members, 3 girls and 1 boy, pretty sensitive in that issue.
We follow some actionable steps.
In the first place, we thought to create 4 first aid stations in each suburb of Athens, that will complete the job of veterinary, will assosiate with animal welfare organisations, as well as sponsors. We wanted to have our staff, consisted of students in that field, doing their practise, among vets in shifts and payroll.
However, we hit a wall as time went by. We didn’t change our thinking and actions, but we made some changes, as far as budget is concerned. We faced some difficulties on the (theoretical) building of the stations, so we decided to convert them into mobile units. In that way, it will be used a lot less money, than before, and we can use what we save to buy better equipment, and of course, pay our vets. In addition to that, a mobile unit is way far more beneficial to everyone. We are going, exactly, to the place where the emergency is, and if necessary, we provide a transportation to the closest hospital.
Last, but not least, we did a little research about animal welfare organisations because we want to give a second chance in life to stray animals, and about sponsors, in order to make this idea — dream come true. But to do so, we made questionnaires to make sure that our project is something that people want to exist and find a meaning in that. We received a lot of positive answers, enhancing our effort and telling us not to give up.
So, if something happen to your domestic animal and there is nothing you can do to save it, do not worry, we are here for you! There is an app, which locates you and in that way, we can find you. Do not lose your hope, everything is going to be fine. Suppose you see a stray who is hurt, do not hesitate, use the app and we will come to save it, too. Everyone must have a second chance in life.
