Who we are & what we do
Hello! We are QuARTetto , a nongovermental organization from Panteion University. Our goal is to help ex prisoners with the huge issue of isolation and give them a second chance so, they won’t feel alone and unprotected as soon as they leave from prison.
We want to promote our project and collaborate with other foundations based on art.Our idea is to organize a group of volunteers actors and dancers and combine their passion for art with this of ex prisoners.
We believe that taking up something you love may take the bitterness away.
Art may be a solution for isolation! We believe it and we will prove it.
We want to approach professional teams of dance, theatre and music and persuade them to help by volunteering teaching to ex prisoners. Furthermore, we believe that municipalities can help us by providing buildings , so we can support our actions. Dance and theatre professors can also visit prisons organize performances. This way , we can built trust and creativeness to those who want to follow our project.
Art foundations and celebrities who have the will to help us , are most welcome to us support with donations . We also want to be in communication with known greek foundations such as Onassis Cultural Centre, Conservatory of Athens , Central Stage Denissi , Iasmos Centre etc.
What the expectations of ex-prisoners about our project and how can we approach them?
There are many people who can’t afford to occupy with art hobbies. Through our organization, ex prisoners can have this ability. ‘Soul cannot be jailed’. Through art we feel free and art domesticate our spirit. With the help of art we can achieve vocational rehabilitation and social reintegration.Basic condition for someone to love art is to acquire knowledge and experience about it. We will organize seminars on jails and also art lessons. Alongside, we will organize performances for a bigger motivation.
We have already made contact with social workers , psychologists, journalists and professors who deal with prisoners and they willing to help us.
* In order to make our vision come true, we proceeded to a particular set of steps and we decided to work accordingly to #Openideo program.This is our Prototype and User Experience Map.
