“The cycling call’s aftermath Part 1“

As part of our sessions, our professor Betty Tsakarestou assigned us with the real time practice of our project.

The following events are dated up to 8 February

As we said in the sessions and in our main goals we wanted to create safe cycling streets for the community. As a result we came in touch with many city councils and we got some positive and some negative results. The most councils of the north suburbs agreed that some streets need the bicycling feature on them and they would again come in touch with us for further planning of the project. Although, the replies about the tour’s happening were not the ones that we wanted as many councils did not wanted to organize such an event in a time where the lockdown’s end is not known.

Having also the website ready many people came in touch with us via our email. We had many positive messages and many people wanted to take part either by volunteering in our events either by participating with their bicycles.

We also decided to create some social media accounts such as Facebook and instagram in order to upload our posts and news about our events there. We also started recording our Podcast episode about the cycling theme and of course our upcoming project.

In addition some talking with sport and cycling shop started to happen for a potential sponsorship in the future. We thought that it would be better to find some sponsors at first and then we could go on for the negotiations with some athletes and famous cyclers who could talk to our events.
