This is an article that talks about an acquaintance of 5 students, a common concern about a problem we are facing these days and the finding of a solution about this problem.

Our last step was to implement our idea and protect life below water. After several hours of discussion and a lot of brainstorming we have concluded to an idea not only simple, but also easy to use. Our main goal was to create an application, that would firstly give a suitable solution to the problem of illegal fishing and secondly that would be extremely easy to use from each and every user. Thus, everyone would be bound to report every illegal action they witness.

Having these goals we created our application, which have been named as “Stop illegal fishing”. More specifically, the application has three simple steps. The moment the user opens our application a page with the button “MENU” appears. By pressing the button another page appears with the following options : Report Illegal action , Instructions, Sanctions, Contact us. Let’s look at each operation in more detail now. The most basic function of our application is the “Report illegal action” button. By pressing this button the user has the ability to report each and every illegal action he witnesses. The reports are later compiled and sent to the Greek Authorities.

The rest data of our application (Instructions, Sanctions, Contact us) are instructions related to the violations one can see happening, that are worth mentioning to the authorities and are sanctioned by the state. On the other hand the button “SANCTIONS” includes in detail the sanctions that may be suffered by someone who breaks the law. Finally, we give the user our contact information so that each individual can get more explanations and information on the subject.

Last but not least, our application features language settings, in order to be accessible and easy to use, even for tourists. More precisely, there is a choice of the following languages : Greek, English and Francais. Finally, in case communication via mobile or telephone is not possible, the opportunity is given to someone ,through pressing button “HELP”, to explain us his problem.
