#Get Informed #Get Inspired and #Get Going

The homeless people are strangled every single day by the structure of our society being typical victims of the human negligence.Walking down the street or sitting at a corner during the day, they probably seem to be waiting for their luck to change. All of them are different and they all have different backgrounds, different personalities and different desires. That’s why Restart is here to make their dreams come true. We are an inspired non gouvernemental organisation ready to fulfill their needs of having a safe life. We are not only interested in the material wealth. But also we are intensely motivated to help them overcome their own psychological problems, even more to support them at being activated for as long as they can.

Finally, homelessness isn’t just about finding a house to live in. Sometimes it’s about feeling like home, being happy and grateful for creating new things. Indeed, after having a constructive meeting with “Shedia” and an interesting interview with homeless John [https://medium.com/@AnnaKoumaneli], we were able to learn more and more about his life and his individual, unique needs. Our group was determined enough to change his life entirely in order to help him find out his hidden ego. Supported by highly trained psychoanalysts he would be able to express his thoughts more easily and start believing in himself. Moreover, psychotherapists and other experts will be attentively aware of his story, they will know about his past and will be able to help him understand the causes of his emotions and behaviors; the benefit of these can be undoubtedly considerable and long lasting. We make sure that very soon he will be encouraged and may try to be an active citizen as well as a unique member in our society, with main goals until the end of his life. So, he will not be isolated and lonely anymore! Also, we really want to give him some guidelines onhow to “build” his future without spending hours wandering around the city.

We have already made a contact with the Centre for Mental Health in Athens and we were informed about their services and their medical program. In collaboration with psychologists we are going to offer him a high quality support at enhancing his self confidence and helping him being visible in a city of “invisible souls”. We are also planning a lot of events in which he can participate. So, John can feel like home again!
