In the beginning of this semester my team and I(Charis Zarbalas, Danai Lyratzi, Asimina Christodoulatou, Frossini Drakouli, Martha Davari) worked hard together in order to achieve our goal and create an app that will make people’s lives easier. In Dare to challenge lab and by the guidance of Mrs. Betty Tsakarestou we gained experience and managed to organize our thoughts and deeds in order accomplish our goal.

Our project was the‘’Safe and sound’’ application where people can reach their destinations safe through the most enlighted and crowded roads. We did a lot of research, we teamed up, we brainstormed and in addition we prototyped our app. We tried to do our best in order to make this happen. In our teams articles we talked about the Rape Culture and ways to prevent it. In a second base we managed to focus on our Minimum Value Product, which was to reach your destination safe. In the Dare to challenge lab we collected feedback from our fellow students and useful advice from our professor Mrs. Tsakarestou in order to make our app better and more affective, and I believe we did it.

We learned a lot of useful things that will help us throughout the way. First of all one of the most important things that we learned is that every start app must focus on its M.V.P (Minimum Value Product) in order to be successful. Secondly we learned and figured out how the whole prοcedure of creating an application works and of course how it succeeds. One more thing that we reaped through Dare to challenge lab was that every start app should always hear the client and his needs and learn from him. Last but not least, when it comes to a social issue a start app must always focus at the human factor in order to solve this particular social issue.

Through this journey called Dare to Challenge lab, we also faced a variety of problems and obstacles, such as the financial resources needed to create an application. But the biggest of all was the social issue that we tried to solve, the rape culture. Rape culture was and still is a taboo nowadays. People and victims do not want to talk about or they just ignore it, not to mention people’s lack of awareness on this subject. It was surely a challenge but after all the Safe and sound team dares to Challenge.
