The best part about social media is that it instantly connects you with the people in your life who are the most important to you.

The worst part about social media is that it becomes very apparent, pretty quickly that the people in your life are super boring.

Like, post pictures of my lunch boring. Like, brag about going to the gym boring.

The madness has to stop.

When is the last time you left the infinite scroll of social media thinking to yourself, “Wow, I’ve got some pretty awesome friends! Everybody is so much fun!” Probably never. That’s why you keep scrolling…hoping to find somebody doing something awesome.

Well, the times they are a changing, my good looking, social media influencer wannabe. Let us introduce you to #DARE.

#DARE is everything you’ve always wanted your social media to be. Awesome people doing awesome things — that you can encourage. Imagine this: you’re scrolling through your Instagram feed and all of a sudden a video of your friend dressed up as an old timey gold miner pops up. You click, because it seems bizarre, and your friend all of a sudden is singing the lyrics to a Katy Perry song. Dressed up as a miner. In the middle of a grocery store.

Bad ass.

Now that’s a dare in action. Best part — DARE actually makes you money. We call them nerdcoins, because, well, why not. But frankly, it’s cash in your online account. For accepting and executing the dares your friends challenge you to do.

Hot damn.

Now this is social media. It can be fun, it can be creative, and it can be lucrative.

Sign up for #DARE.

Get the challenges rolling, and be amazing. Social media is fun again with #DARE.

You don’t have to ask your friends to dress up as old-timey gold miners and sing pop songs, but frankly, that’s hilarious. You can ask them to do anything, anywhere at anytime. What will you come up with?

Here are five ideas you might consider:

5. Dress up as Hulk Hogan and visit your mom at work

4. Video your dog as if it were Bigfoot. Release video as if it were a major discovery

3. Eat an entire bag of Kale chips, on the bus, while trying to start a conversation with another passenger

2. Raise $100 for charity at a place you’ve never been to before

  1. 50 pushups in 50 seconds. Yikes.

Sky’s the limit, and social media has all of a sudden become much more than a vapid wasteland of photos of people’s smoothies.

Join #DARE — and make social media fun again!
