The Banff Springs Hotel is a historic landmark that has been around for over a hundred years. It’s seen its fair share of famous guests, as well as some tragedy. Some people believe that the spirits of those who have died in the hotel still haunt its halls. Whether you believe in ghosts or not, there’s no denying that the Banff Springs Hotel is a place with a lot of history.

The Alberta vacation spot has been the scene of horrific murders, suicides, and accidents for over a century. Due to these, some rooms have been boarded up, and paranormal activity is frequently referenced. There are many reports of a ghostly bride roaming the halls of the Banff Springs Hotel. Some people are skeptics, but many claim to have seen her with their own eyes. The bride is said to be the most ‘active’ shadow of the hotel and she has even appeared on collector’s stamps and coins.

The story of the woman in white has been told hundreds of times, and over time, the details have become embellished. It’s a classic ghost story that everyone knows. But no one is quite sure who or what happened to the elusive woman in white.

The story goes that a young bride from a wealthy family died on her wedding day at the hotel in the early 1930’s. On the day she was married, she and her husband walked down the hotel’s marble staircase leading to the reception hall. Rumor has it that she tripped and fell down the long staircase, and sadly she died from her fall.

However, there is another version of the story that many believe to be the true cause of her fall. It is said that her dress brushed up against candles that illuminated the staircase and her gown ignited. When the Bride struggled to put the flames out, she stumbled and fell to her death down the marble stairs.

There have been reports of guests seeing a woman in a white wedding dress walking down the stairs and disappearing into thin air. Other guests have also reported seeing a woman with a dress that appeared to be on fire standing on a staircase, only to vanish abruptly into thin air. There have also been reports of staff hearing sobbing and noises coming from the bridal suite when it is empty.

Room 873 has been the site of heavy paranormal activity and unexplained apparitions. However, the room doesn’t actually exist anymore. After years of people claiming that they were petrified in the suite, the hotel decided to seal the room from further guests.

The room is believed to be the scene of a brutal triple homicide, although hotel staff denies that any such crime ever took place there.

‘Sam the Bellman’, another specter of the hotel, is said to be a considerate, merry spirit that is often mistaken for a living… breathing… employee.

The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel has a long and storied history. For centuries, it has been the site of strange happenings and mysterious deaths. Some say the hotel is haunted by the spirits of those who have died there. Others believe the hotel is cursed. Whatever the case may be, the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is definitely a place with a dark past.
