As punishment, one of Chloe’s ears was cut off, and she was forced to wear a green turban to cover the wound. Seeking revenge, Chloe baked a poisoned cake and served it to the family, killing two of them. Chloe was then hanged by the other slaves, and her ghost is said to haunt the plantation to this day. Visitors have reported seeing a ghostly figure wearing a green turban wandering the property.
