Taking part in Oslo Architecture Trienniale 2022 was not only great fun but good learning. As well as writing for the exhibition catalogue — see related post—I had the pleasure of co-producing an exhibit with old friends and colleagues Einar and Joakim, and our students at Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO). The Garden of Ideas tried to make tangible, for a moment at least, the idea of every neighbourhood having a place to collectively imagine, discuss and prototype the future of the neighbourhood. And so we made a kind of living sketch, effectively roleplaying it into life.

This did many things — including being a core component of the AHO Master of Design degree — but for me it would be the experiential counterpoint to the essay’s broader discussion of…
