Muslims celebrate two Eids each year: Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha.

Eid-ul-Adha, celebrated on the 10th of Zilhij, commemorates the divine command given to Prophet Abraham (May Allah be pleased with him) in his dream ,to sacrifice his son Ishmail. As he prepared to fulfill this command with fixed obedience, Allah sent a ram from the heavens through Angel Gabriel, who then instructed Abraham to sacrifice the ram instead, according to the will of Allah

The essence of the Festival of Sacrifice lies in the act of sacrificing a goat, sheep, cow, or a camel and distributing the meat to those in need who barely enjoy the luxury of eating meat throughout the year. This Eid teaches love, respect, and compassion for family, relatives, and the poor strata of society. As financial segregation matters least to Allah only it’s the Faith in the servants He looks for .

The holy day begins with:

  • Ghusl (a ritual bath),
  • wearing clean clothes,
  • Eid-ul-Adha , a family reunion , Memories and Shared Love
  • applying non-alchohlic fragrance, and
  • eating dates in accordance with Sunnah.
