What You Should Know About the Colonial Pipelines Cyberattack
What happened at Colonial Pipelines?
The other night, my mom and I were discussing the gas “shortages”, which occurred as a result of the Colonial Pipeline cyberattack that happened earlier this week. I jokingly said, “well, if people didn’t know what cybersecurity was, they will now.”
We both laughed and then I continued, “no seriously, this is a wake-up call for anyone and everyone with an online presence.”
And it’s true. We, as humans, tend to think we’re invincible. We believe bad things won’t happen to us…until one day something does.
This is exactly what happened at Colonial Pipelines. But many may still be asking: What exactly happened? How did Colonial Pipelines get hacked?
