Since we had Nancy Roland Wilson now connected to Tobias Wilson via photograph, our next logical step was to further corroborate that connection with another dive into public records. As we had specifics, thanks to the picture, it only took us ten minutes to pull up the marriage certificate in county court records.
Our next step was a quick call to the medical examiner. Ruth Hayden was hesitant to release any information, but after a bit of sweet-talking and the promise of a free lunch, she did confirm the skeleton was that of a female. According to her, about twenty to twenty-five years old. Portions of the skeleton’s neck bones had been broken. Not enough to have been the cause of death, but certainly enough to render a body unconscious.
And that was all Ruth could tell us. As the body had decomposed entirely, it was impossible to render a ruling on the cause of death. A ruling we already knew thanks to the ghost of Nancy Wilson.
