To write sex not smut, elevated erotica, poetry that peels away vulnerability and leaves you wanting; to write about things that make us squirm, both in content and style — these are the goals of Darker Dreams.

1. We will pub erotic stories/poetry that is about consensual acts between adult human beings. Every word of this rule is important. If you’re not sure, submit with a private note.
2. No lazy porn. In our opinion, the biggest offense of erotica is lazy writing. Letting the sex carry the piece. We strive for literary merit here. We are writers ourselves, and we are learning, too. But we value elevated writing. Therefore, we will read every word you write, edit it, and reserve the right to alter punctuation and correct typos. If your story or poem needs more than a light edit, you will be notified by private note before substantive changes are made.
3. Rights to content remain yours. You’re the writer. Your work will always be your work. We’re proud to host you.
