A Purpose Driven Life

War! Recession! Political corruption!

And depending on who you talk to the environment is screwed thanks to artificial (or human induced) climate change.

With dystopia being the theme of late (as one can tell by all the Prepper shows being broadcasted) what’s the point in being good?

Why should I choose truth over lying, honest labor over stealing, a chaste life over a sexual one, etcetera, when it seems being wicked is much more profitable and (depending on who you talk to) more enjoyable?

“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. (2 Peter 1:4)”

For the sake of brevity I’m not going to elaborate what I believe my precious promises are (what some might call fate or destiny), but those promises are what inspires me in spite of the turmoil that engulfs our globe on a daily basis.

Despite the chaos that is constantly spewed by the news, I believe that a greater (and better) destiny awaits all of us; but only if we choose it over our selfish desires.
