Paranoia of Man
I’ve become very paranoid ever since I became aware of how invasive the NSA is within the fabric of my digital life.
Yes, the government could kidnap/kill me if they wanted to, or even leave me broke and penniless.
But my fear of a potentially oppressive government seeking to know every facet of my life shouldn’t drown out my faith in God.
This verse in Isaiah reminded me of this…
“I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass; And forgettest the Lord thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? (Isaiah 51:12–13)”
God is the ultimate power and unlike every empire that has existed (or has yet to exist), His power isn’t limited.
Kingdoms come and go but God remains eternal. That alone is comforting enough.
