God, Intents And Delusions‽
Apparently the Almighty is not just interested in our actions, but the motivation behind them as well.
“He that killeth an ox is as if he slew a man; he that sacrificeth a lamb, as if he cut off a dog’s neck; he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swine’s blood; he that burneth incense, as if he blessed an idol. Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. (Isaiah 66:3)”
Truthfully giving offerings & sacrificing time, energy, resources, etcetera, to God for the betterment of other people are expected of those who call upon the Divine.
However the Almighty does not desire us to do so disrespectfully or with a corrupt agenda — as to do so risks an unfortunate consequence.
“I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. (Isaiah 66:4)”
It’s one thing to ignore God out of ignorance.
It’s quite another to disregard the Almighty after being enlightened, which results in a God given delusion.
As I continue down this path Christ has laid out in front of me I must examine not only my actions, but my intents behind them as well.
After all, I am here to glorify God — not Darnell Clayton — upon this small blue dot called Earth.
