My pastor gave an impromptu sermon yesterday (& he did not follow his YouVersion notes at all!) which was surprisingly good.
What my Pastor was trying to communicate to us is that God is neither committed to making us happy or miserable in this life but rather to make us Christ-like & whole.
Too often we (as humans) expect God to either satisfy our emotional whims or perpetually punish us while living on planet Earth.
Imparting misery or carnal happiness upon our lives does not interest the Almighty.
God is interested in seeing us in our optimal state & will use good & evil scenarios to guide us towards our future perfection.
