Ignore The Shame, Seek The Glory

So Jesus was not only motivated by love for humanity but embraced his future glory which apparently motivated him to endure a brutal crucifixion‽

”Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,“

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”

“For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” (Hebrews 12:1–3)

Interesting how Christ utterly despised the whole crucifixion process (both physically & spiritually) but in order to accomplish the greatest feat in human history Jesus did not focus on the pain but rather on what glory he would gain in dying for all of humanities sins.

This is a great example for me as life can (at times & sometimes for lengthier periods of time) be a struggle at times.

Instead of being boggled down by the obstacles (irregardless of the odds), I should instead be patient & focus on the glory from accomplishing the goal.

After all, my trek with Christ is a marathon which was never guaranteed to be free of stumbles, setbacks & slowdowns.

Instead of being demoralized on how I tripped up again, I need to focus at the destination as that is the reason I chose to run this race in the first place!
