King Solomon: How To Address Rumors

The answer does not involve Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, et al.

Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame.

Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another:

Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away. (King Solomon, Proverbs 25:8–10)

Basically instead of publicly condemning or being passive aggressive by attacking third party via “friends,” it is always best to address the person (in person) privately by themselves (or in the company of a trusted mutual friend).

Usually obtaining the info directly from the people involved is the best way to gain a clearer perspective of the scenario.

While considered more “confrontational,” it usually results in less blowback later on…
