Pearls Before Swine

Interesting contrast between Matthew 7:7–8 (which emphasized seeking out opportunities) & the verse prior which shuns wasting resources, energy & time upon…lost causes‽

“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you. (Matthew 7:6)”

I am not suppose to waste talents, time, & treasure upon (from what I can interpret) ungrateful individuals or (to extrapolate further) unworthy causes.

Deciphering betwixt the worthwhile & the worthless requires discernment upon my part (which is why God gave me a brain).

Before I invest myself into a future (or current) opportunity, relationship or glorious quest, I need to ask myself:

• Is this cause or person worth the blood, sweat & tears‽
• Will it bring glory to God in the end‽
