Purpose of Godly Leaders is…

Read a very interesting passage from the book of Jeremiah (a very emotional book) in which God outlines his purpose of godly leaders.

I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.

But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. (Jeremiah 23:21–22)

God expects anyone declaring themselves a spiritual leader to help guide people away from evil (as opposed to coddling them in their sin).

This is not done via verbal rebukes or self righteous condemnation of a fellow human being, but rather by enlightening an individual with the Word of God.
