Fun waves again at Dockweiler ( Finally)

--

Location: Dockweiler State Beach, Los Angeles, CA

Time: Morning (6:30–8:45 am-ish)

Conditions: 2–3' WNW, rising tide, overcast w/ glassy conditions

Equipment: 8' Almond R-Series Joy

Company: Cherilyn, Joy

Although it didn’t look like much initially, the surf this morning was surprisingly fn which was a welcome change from the near flatness of the past couple of weeks. I paddled out on my 8' and caught quite a few rights and lefts with workable wave faces — some of which would have been quite fun for my shorter board as well. We were again treated to a close encounter with a group of dolphins roaming just offshore. Tomorrow is looking promising so I will probably paddle out on the Al Merrick Pod for the time in a while.
