Jewel of India, another beloved Dartmouth and Upper Valley staple that has fed generations of students for almost three decades since it first started serving North Indian food in 1992, is primed for closure after their lease runs out in June 2020.

A phone call to Jewel of India confirmed that the building’s owners intended to renovate the building, due to which their lease was not being extended. While Jewel is presently searching for a new location, no promises were made as to what the future held for them.

Addendum: An old member of the Jewel of India team now runs SamosaMan, which is right next to Stinson’s at 6 Allen St. Yours truly vouches for the authenticity and quality of the food!
