If you are willing to really think during a movie, then Inception is a definite must see. Dom Cobb is a very talented thief who’s skill is to get inside another person’s mind and steal valuable secrets as they are in their most vulnerable state: subconsciousness. Because of Cobb’s skill, though, he has become a fugitive which forces him to put everything he loves on the line. Fortunately he has one more chance to get his life back, but that would mean he has to do what is though to be the impossible; his job is not to steal an idea but plant one in someone’s mind. To make things even more intense, a very dangerous enemy is after them and can anticipate their every move, and only Cobb knows it’s coming for them.

Director Christopher Nolan has done an excellent job, as he always does, in this film. Nolan is the sixth-highest-grossing director by worldwide box office. He is known for this film and others such as The Dark Knight, Dunkirk, Interstellar, and many more. Because of his work, this movie was one of the most discussed and debated films of the year it came out. He tends to be known for his retro flex and nonlinear films, and Inception fits into this category perfectly.

The main character Leonardo DiCaprio perfected this film as well. DiCaprio has been cast in other films as well that tend to make you think such as the film Shutter Island where he exceeded standards of excellence. DiCaprio knows exactly how to portray these kinds of characters. He doesn’t just stop there though. DiCaprio can move to different sides of the spectrum of different characters. He is so ambiguous, and that’s what makes him the excellent actor that he is. DiCaprio excels as an actor, and that’s another reason why Inception has become so successful; he can pull off his character by the way he acts. Even though we are rooting for him to succeed in the movie, we tend to forget that he is actually a villain in real society.

Inception is definitely a movie that will keep to excited throughout the whole movie, but you also have to pay close attention; it’s a thinker movie. I suggest you drink your cup of coffee before you watch the movie, otherwise you’ll have to watch it five times before you completely understand it (this is what I had to do, but I’d watch it a thousand times if I could). This is a genius movie, and it will forever be one of my favorites.
