Do you think the planet could benefit from buying fewer things? According to the University of Arizona, buying less is better for the world and your health. In theory, shopping comes at an environmental cost with on the Earth’s water supplies, natural resources, and ecosystems.

There’s a lot of talk about shopping for products that last a lifetime. However, most people are looking for a good price, regardless of quality. What if you already have the essentials and products for a home? Do you still need to buy more household products? Research suggests that spending money on experiences rather than tangible possessions makes people happy.

A Sustainable Environment

Imagine those black bags filled with unwanted belongings every time you’ve moved out of an apartment. Clearing your unwanted items before you move will make packing much easier, but they don’t vanish. They end up filling landfills and polluting our oceans. Imagine the average number of times we’ve moved apartments and how much rubbish we’ve disposed of in the process.

Go Green at #dashliving

Unconsciously, we start to have excess “stuff” that takes up space around our homes; but when you live in the most expensive city in the world, space becomes a luxury. That’s why renting a serviced space is a great starting point for adopting eco-friendly lifestyle changes. Why shop for furniture and home appliances when you’re staying in a fully serviced room long-term?

In the end, our climate is changing, and life is made up of things we have done, not the things we have bought. So why not shop less, live more, and save the planet?
