Messaging is the central hub to our communication with friends. We share plans, media, ideas, rumors, affection, almost everything — and there’s now something new to share over messaging: money.
Starting today, Dasher enables you to send money to your friends over chat. Next time you coordinate a place to meet up for drinks, share a ride, or pick up tickets to a show, you can easily close the loop and pay your friends in exactly the same place you started: in the conversation.
We’ve integrated with Venmo to make payments in Dasher easy, quick, and secure. Simply tap the ‘Pay’ button on the chat, key in the amount of money you’d like to send, and off it goes into the recipient’s Venmo account.
Paying via Dasher is supported on web and iOS, with Android support coming with our official launch.
For a trial period, we’re limiting payments to small amounts, but we wanted to open the feature up to you. This is a powerful new feature, and we’re expecting big things from our early adopters. Please give it a try and send us feedback!
