ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
The case studies are the result of a series of interviews with lab directors, senior staff and funders. The initial draft of the case study was prepared by Professor Beth Noveck’s students in Yale Law School’s Governance Innovation Clinic in Spring 2017. Their work was subsequently supplemented with a second round of interviews and completed by the Governance Lab in Summer 2017 with the support of a grant from Stanford’s Markets for Good and in collaboration with our partners at New Philanthropy Capital.
We want to thank all the interviewees for taking the time to speak with our team and for providing us with numerous supplementary sources of readings.

About New Philanthropy Capital
NPC is a charity think tank and consultancy that occupies a unique position at the nexus between charities and funders, helping them achieve the greatest impact. This understanding of both sides of the funding equation is reflected in the variety of skills and knowledge of our people, and their backgrounds in charities and the public and private sector.
At NPC, we bring shared values and different skills to both charities and funders. By helping them use their resources more effectively, by inspiring through new thinking and by prioritizing impact, we are transforming the sector. For more information, visit thinknpc.org
About The Governance Lab
The Governance Lab’s mission is to improve people’s lives by changing the way we govern. Our goal at The GovLab is to strengthen the ability of institutions — including but not limited to governments — and people to work more openly, collaboratively, effectively, and legitimately to make better decisions and solve public problems. We believe that increased availability and use of data, new ways to leverage the capacity, intelligence, and expertise of people in the problem-solving process, combined with new advances in technology and science, can transform governance. We approach each challenge and opportunity in an interdisciplinary, collaborative way, irrespective of the problem, sector, geography, and level of government.
