A LOWER EAST SIDE NYCHA HOUSING SOLAR AND MENTAL HEALTH ANALYSIS

After the discussion in the last class, we revised our research direction. We want to mainly discuss the factors that are not good for mental health in this area. We analyzed the lighting time of building facades, the lighting time of public activity spaces, and the lighting hours of roads.

We chose the winter time period to analyze the sunlight hours, because the winter light time is the shortest.

By using grasshopper’s ladybug and elk, we obtained the following results.

It can be seen that the sunlight hours in this neighborhood are not sufficient.
