Description

New York City is a dog-friendly city, where a significant amount of households own at least one or more dogs. Compact as Manhattan is, the area left for dog park is limited. To justify if there is an sufficient amount of dog parks around Midtown Manhattan, we could start from analyzing the distribution of green space around the area and learning the dog walking patterns the owners have.

How it Works

  • Compare the distribution of dog park data with dog-owned households to decide whether there is enough dog parks around the neighborhood
  • Cross-examine the dog walking pattern with the result to identify what locations would be the most appropriate to create new dog parks
