With data becoming the new oil, Data Analysts are more in need than ever. However, more data means more challenges. That’s why it’s important to stay on top of the game and read relevant books to boost your skills. Here’s the list of books you should read as a Data Analyst at any level.

Data Analyst Books — boost your career with training.

Introductory level

If you’re just starting your adventure with Data Analytics, you should definitely try:

Data Science from Scratch is the most gentle introduction to Data Science and Data Analytics. You won’t find an easier book to read. Everything is laid out for beginners — you don’t even have to know how to code.

With Data Science from Scratch you get a crash course in Python, linear algebra, and statistics, which would set you up for a data analyst career. You’ll learn KNN, Naive Bayes, linear regression and other fundamental analytic tools.

Intermediate Level

If you have some experience with Python, finished a bunch of projects on Github then you’re ready to tackle new challenges.

Python for Data Analysis is a great way for data analysts to go deeper into data analysis. It can even work well for beginners but the learning curve might be steep. You’ll learn basic and advanced features in NumPy (Numerical Python, use data analysis tools like pandas, and load, clean, transform, merge, and reshape data.

Python Data Science Handbook is another great guide through all standard Python libraries as well: NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn. With this handbook, you’ll practice how to manipulate and visualize data.

Python for Finance is an amazing book for anyone doing data analysis on financial data. If you work in a bank or for an insurer, then this book should be your top priority. It’s practical guide on how to use Python on financial data.

Expert

If you have already a couple of years of experience in crunching data and building data analytics tools, then it’s high time to master machine learning and deep learning.

Deep Learning with Python is the most accessible book to machine learning and deep learning. It was written by a creator of Keras, which is one of the most popular machine learning libraries in Python. This book covers a great variety of topics, shows pieces of code and provides insights into deep learning.
