Introduction

My job hunting season started at an absolutely worst time:

• A deadly pandemic hit everyone by surprise;
• The global economy entered a panic mode;
• Companies froze new hires.

As a new grad, I had to navigate the job-search journey while trying to stay healthy (mostly isolated from the outside world) and wrapping up a Ph.D. program. It was such a lonely journey, and I bet a lot of you can relate to it.

Interviews after interviews, and rejections after rejections.

Self-doubt and hesitation kick in, and my confidence level is shaking.
