Less Hype More Action:
While the total market size for AI will almost have a twofold increase on a yearly basis, AI will still outgrow the phase of inflated expectations. In 2018, 70% of the enterprises expect to implement AI over the next 12 months, up from 40% in 2016 and 51% in 2017. 20% of enterprises will deploy AI to make decisions and provide real-time instructions. As machine learning and neural network technology take on more routine tasks, real progress towards augmenting human productivity and driving value from tedious tasks will be seen in 2018. AI will erase the boundaries between structured and unstructured data-based insights. Counselor-chatbots with the ability to recognize human emotions will be developed in 2018.
Human-Free Interactions:
In a recent Forbes article, contributor Daniel Newman states, “Humans simply can’t keep up with the speed at which technology — and customer demands — are moving. AI that is explainable, provable, and transparent will be critical to establishing trust in the technology and will encourage wider adoption of machine learning techniques.
Prescriptive Analytics for Businesses
This emerging solution category goes beyond insights provided by typical, descriptive analytics that study past events or predictive analytics that forecast future events. Instead, prescriptive analytics goes so far as to the answer the question, “What should be done?” by taking into account a myriad of different factors to optimize the objective or the desired outcome. Businesses will incorporate more prescriptive analytics tools that will recommend actions to optimize business processes, marketing effectiveness, ad targeting, and more.
