Why This Post Has To Be Extremely Brief but Powerful

Reflections on the word “brief”, day 24 of 31

There are times that I can write for quite a while. I enjoy finding the words to explain my thoughts. Then there are times like these that I literally have only 5 minutes.

Hubby is up — breakfast will be ready soon, I have an appointment and we are travelling in a few days — packing is needed. Organization etc.

But sometimes when our thoughts are brief we can say the most poignant things.

My Brief Thoughts

Lately God has put on my heart to advocate again against human trafficking and any kind of abuse. When I heard that International Justice Mission (Canada) was holding Bold in the Cold, I couldn’t resist. I had to use this platform. Find out more at Chain Breakers.

Praying for God to Show us the Way

I also have 31 scriptures that deal with Human Dignity from Street Hope, Tennessee . I will be using some of these to study in Artists and Writers Grow Through God’s Word Facebook group. Join us. We will be praying scriptures for the month of November.

Be Bold in the Cold

Instead of wearing yellow (I will try to find something yellow) I am going to try to draw, paint, illustrate in yellow for the month of November. My own challenge. But if you wish to join — please contact me. I don’t know whether the pictures will be in Instagram or here on Medium. Here is my first quick sketch.

Birds on the Branches — wearing yellow — by Janis Cox
“Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they (Matthew 6:26, NIV)?”

The name for my team is Chain Breakers.

Do you want to help break the chain of abuse?

By advocating, by prayer, by art, or by donation. I challenge you to at least think about the abuse that is now in our world. Hidden and open. Like my Facebook Page — Help Break the Chains of Abuse.

Let’s be Chain Breakers.

And one last thought — I won’t be cold. We are heading for Arizona this week to our winter residence. Snow here in Haliburton Ontario this morning. We are blessed to be able to travel south. This cold is not for me at this time in my life. But I will still be part of Bold in the Cold.

May I pray for you and me?

Father, human dignity is important to You and to us. I pray that You open doors — to speak Your Word into the hearts of Your people. I pray that we can make more and more people aware of what is really going on and stop this travesty. We lean on You for inspiration, for Your Way and for freedom for the captives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Time is up. 5 minutes goes quickly.
