Today Data.FI has launched a $100,000 challenge to identify innovative analytical approaches for market segmentation based on ability to pay for HIV treatment services and novel data sources that can be utilized for such purposes.

The challenge is now LIVE on the website of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Office of HIV/AIDS. Help us by spreading the word to any individual or organization who may have the skills and ideas to support the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) fine-tune the private sector engagement strategy for HIV service delivery.

Why a challenge? Data.FI, in collaboration with the USAID Office of HIV/AIDS, PEPFAR, and the U.S. State Department Global AIDS Coordinator, seeks diverse and ambitious responses that apply underutilized data sources to create an easy-to-implement and replicable market segmentation solution. Competitions allow us to identify non-traditional approaches and catalyze new partnerships, broadening the scope and scale of potential solutions. Up to three innovators with game-changing models will receive funding to fine-tune their approach. Successful approaches may be replicated in PEPFAR countries.

Please apply here today; applications will be accepted until October 1st at 11:59PM EDT. We will hold a webinar on September 13th from 9–10:30am EDT open to anyone interested in the challenge which will include an opportunity for participant Q&A. The entirety of the webinar will be recorded and shared out — please register here.
