TL:DR: Dallas-based, Boaz Bike is using DataGovs Compliance API to scale across states with their operations while keeping in regulatory compliance.

The Story

Micro-mobility is a thriving $200 Billion industry according to McKinsey. The global micro-mobility market is growing due to a rise in the popularity of on-demand transportation services, favorable government initiatives for smart cities, rising urbanization, and local commuting requirements, as well as an increase in startup capital and strategic investments.

But with the rise, there has also been some downfall. Bikes and scooters are mass-produced causing features to sometimes be defective causing accidents and failed rides. One company is changing how safety and sustainable operations of light electric vehicles. The Dallas-based minority-owned company which just raised over a million in crowd-sourced capital is called Boaz Bikes.

The Challenge

Boaz Bikes has lots of things to prioritize as they make sure that their users get the best experience riding their electric vehicles. This includes keeping up with cities and states with various regulations for sharing data in compliance. Every time Boaz Bikes gets a permit license to operate in a city they need to keep up with compliance and send a data feed to partners on their work. This can be a massive undertaking with lots of changes.

Boaz Bikes approached DataGovs Compliance API to solve this problem and unlock faster growth without more overhead.

The Approach

Boaz Bikes have seats and a wider foot deck than powered stand-up scooters, allowing riders’ feet to be side-by-side instead of one behind the other. Bigger tires, rear-mounted baskets, turn signals, and side mirrors are also included on the bikes to help them navigate difficult pavement. These features help explain why Boaz Bikes only has an average of three accidents per 100,000 rides, compared to 19 incidents per 100,000 rides for stand-up scooters.

With DataGovs, Boaz Bikes connected their existing cloud data warehouse and leveraged DataGovs Compliance API to manage compliance across assets in one place using AI to track time-related issues.

The Result

  • Faster Onboarding — Boaz Bikes was able to onboard users and launch in now over 5 states across several cities using DataGovs API.
  • Cost Per Analyst — DataGovs was able to save time in analyzing compliance and notifying Boaz Bikes of issues in real-time.
  • Closed Cases — Boaz was able to securely manage up to 200 new vehicles per city and close cases related to data issues in 24 hours or less.

Today Boaz Bikes is on a mission to scale up and get to profitability faster while looking at the future potential of DataGovs Compliance API to scale and manage its compliance program in a digital way.

As Boaz Bikes grows and scales, we at DataGovs are excited to continue supporting the team.
