Welcome Laura!
A huge welcome to our new Executive Assistant (to our Director Giselle) and Team Coordinator, Laura Kim. Her role means she has her hands in many pies internally at DataKind UK to make sure things run smoothly and efficiently. Prior to this, she has had over 10 years’ experience specialising in operations for the not for profit sector, most recently as Head of Operations and Executive Assistant at 38 Degrees, an online campaigning organisation.
What were you up to before DataKind?
Over the years I’ve been focused on using my operational strengths and experience in the third sector. Prior to joining DataKind UK, I was the Head of Operations at 38 Degrees, an online campaigning organisation.
Why are you excited to join DataKind?
I’m a true believer in the power of data and passionate about using it in the most effective and ethical way to transform the social sector. I’m also a huge advocate in people power — the volunteer community at DataKind is inspiring and I’m excited to work alongside them.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m an avid coffee drinker and cyclist — not necessarily in that order. I am a proud plant mother and love a bit of DIY.
