Never a dull moment here at DataLA! We can’t believe it is already July, here’s what we’ve been up to the past couple of months:

  • We’re getting older and wiser: Happy Birthday, data.lacity! We celebrated our three year anniversary with a new feature page on data.lacity.org. Check it out to learn more about our vision for open data in Los Angeles.
  • One demand access: We have developed an enterprise-wide data management prototype that aggregates all accessible city data and allows query by latitude/longitude — a huge stride towards having on-demand access to city data for decision-making.
  • The Los Angeles Tech Talent Pipeline: Want to know what the most in-demand tech skills are in LA? Check out our digital report on the tech workforce pipeline in LA published in partnership LinkedIn, the Economic & Workforce Development Department, and the Bixel Exchange at the LA Chamber of Commerce. This report accompanies the announcement of the L.A. Tech Talent Pipeline, a new initiative led by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti to build the next generation of homegrown talent for one of our city’s fastest-growing sectors.
Software Developer is still the most common job title, accounting for approximately 36% of L.A.’s tech hires. Snapshot from Digital Report.
