In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, we think there’s no better way to celebrate our love for data than to share the 2016 Los Angeles County marriage data with fellow data lovers. We created a storymap on the GeoHub that sheds light on where and when Angelenos choose to tie the knot, so pop some champagne and get ready to cut the cake, we’ve got marriage data insights for you!

DataLA Love Insights

We loved exploring this dataset and gleaning local insights. While most Angelenos choose to stay in the city to celebrate, many couples travel all over California to wed — including Yosemite, San Francisco, and Palm Springs.

A special PSA: This year, LA County’s Clerk will waive the regular waiting period for ceremonies and allow same day ceremonies for lovebirds who wish to wed on Valentine’s Day. All county offices including the Norwalk headquarters will be open for ceremonies on a walk-in basis.

LA County is getting in the holiday spirit!

Happy Valentine’s Day from DataLA!
